Moments

Velvet for drapes and furniture upholstery

The theme of the reflection of the natural elements in man has inspired and continues to inspire people. The Moments collection continues the idea that, depending on the moment and the point in which one finds oneself, one can see the influence of all four elements.

The element of earth

Two of the Moments collection designs are dedicated to the element of Earth. They are the first blooming flowers of the field, which just want to collect in a beautiful bouquet. The Earth that nourishes, gives strength and energy is the element that gives birth to all living things. The moment we are in, breathing in the smell of flowers - hope and pure, concentrated joy.

In the second design one can easily guess the fennel sprigs, which have already become a new classic and which the designers love endlessly. It is the power of the earth, the sun, summer and a warm August evening enclosed in the thin stems. A second frozen in the branches, reaching up to the sky, arms outstretched towards freedom and the future.

Element of water

The third design is an embodiment of the element of water, foamy waves, and the raging ocean. Drawings on the wet sand. A moment in which time stands still and you look at the water, hear the sound of the sea and understand that you live. The pattern, reminiscent of the glint of light on the water, seems to come alive when you look at it from a different angle. It has the same fascinating shimmering effect in all its colors.

The element of fire

The fourth design -Iris with buds like frozen flames, seeking sunshine and warmth. It's a moment when we look at the fire and remember intimate moments when we were really happy and lived our lives to the fullest.

The element of air

In the fifth design, birds are the embodiment of the element of air and true freedom. Their silhouettes are magically woven into the branches and leaves, and appear at the most unexpected moment, when the light falls on the fabric. A moment born in the flap of their wings, the rustling of leaves swaying in the wind, the flight that we dream about at night.

Different direction of design

The direction of the pattern in all the designs is different because of the special production technology of jacquard cut velvet, as velvet is woven from two bases, pierced with pile threads, and then cut on the loom, resulting in two mirror images of each other.

Heterogeneous base

The base of velvet is intentionally heterogeneous, somewhere the pile is dense, somewhere it is thinned, somewhere it is completely absent and the base is visible. The difference we see is fascinating: the fabric looks much more textured and voluminous, you want to touch it. Two different threads can be felt under your hand - one shimmering, the other mat. Their combination creates an understated, but very self-sufficient single-color fabric.

High abrasion resistance and tactility

The material is very malleable, the thoroughness and thoughtfulness in it combines with excellent drapeability and tactility, it has a pleasing heaviness and gives straight beautiful folds that are soft in waves. Although velvet has an impressive durability of 250,000 Martindale cycles, it not only looks, but feels plush to the touch. This effect has been achieved thanks to the Italian Airo®24 technology, invented to soften the fabric and improve its properties. The velvet has been processed by a special machine from the Italian company Biancalani.

AIRO®24 technology

The velvet has been finished with a continuous open tumbling finishing machine from Biancalani that provides excellent drape and dimensional stability.

The fabric was exposed to hot dry air during the Airo®24 treatment. The canvases were beating against each other inside the dryer, as a result of which the plasticity of the velvet increased, it acquired a matte finish, softness and volume, and the directionality of the pile was gone, which is especially important for upholstery fabrics.

Palette

Emphasized soft and muted colors of the palette unobtrusively complement the theme of nature. The mood of the fabric coincides with the mood of the elements and can be traced in the seven shades that were chosen for the collection:

Fertile Earth. Brown
Golden sand. Beige and ochre
Light-seeking plants. Olive green
Unsharpened stone. Gray
Transparent ice. White
Running water. Turquoise
